Delete your account

You delete your Kowope Business account from inside the app. This page explains how to do it, how to change your mind, and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

1. Open the Kowope Business app on your phone.
2. Tap the person button at the top right to open the Account screen.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Read the confirmation message, then confirm.

What happens straight away

• Your account is marked for deletion.
• The app signs you out and removes your records from your phone — including your credit ledger, cash sales, Product Types, and Locations.
• Your account and the copy of your records stay on our servers for a 30-day grace period.
• If you have a paid plan, deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel the subscription in your Google Play subscription settings.

Change your mind within 30 days

Sign in again with the same phone number during the 30-day grace period. Your account comes back and the deletion is cancelled. The copy of your records is put back on your phone.

What happens after 30 days

1. We remove your personal details: your phone number, your business name, and your device identifiers. Your account can no longer be recovered.
2. Seven days after that, your business records — customers, credit history, cash sales, Product Types, Locations, and Shopkeeper assignments — are permanently deleted from our servers.

What we keep

After your account is deleted, we keep some records for legal and financial reasons:

• payment and subscription history
• commission and withdrawal records
• fraud-prevention records

Backups and service logs can also hold data for a limited period until their retention windows end. Our privacy policy explains this in full.
